St Petersburg - Day 1

Well what a week I have just had. I have to say it's pretty hard having the opportunity to travel to so many countries in so few days(not). Well last Thursday (April 27th) I left Finland bound for St Petersburg, Russia. And what a trip this was. It ended up taking about 2 hours to cross the boarder (the Russian's seem to love turning such a small thing into something huge). Once across the boarder we set off bound for our hotel, which was about another 2-3 hours drive away.
The Boarder Crossing!!

A poor person's house!! There are so many of these of the way to
St Petersburg, very very sad.

A group of exchange students!!
Matthias, Nick, Jason, Heather, Andrew and Peter!!

Me and Paulo(my oldie or in other words an exchange student from my town who arrived last year)

Me and Victoria (a girl from my district in Australia)

A picture I got on the bus (don't know what it is though)

Another picture from the bus

And another

A foster's sign (Everyone over this side of the world really think
that Aussies love fosters)

And another!!

And another!!

And last but not least!!

We finally arrived at the hotel about 8pm and were given a few minutes to go to our rooms then it was time for dinner since we arrived late. The worst thing about this day was I was starving by the time we finally got to the hotel and for the entree we had crab salad and for the main course we had fish and chips. Nice combination for the people who don't eat fish. So Emily being brave decided she would try the fish (but not the crab). I ended up eating about 3 out of 4 of the little bits we were given. Was an interesting experience.
